Here at the Mountain View Chronicle, we want to be an outlet and platform for many different voices throughout the community. So let’s talk about the different ways that you can have your writing published in the MVC.
Opinion - Do you have a strong opinion about an issue in our community that you’d like to share? Submit a guest opinion piece! Email us at mtviewchronicle@gmail.com to pitch a topic you’d like to write about.
Column - For more experienced writers who want to regularly contribute writing to the Mountain View Chronicle, a columnist role could be right for you. Columnists write frequent articles (1-2 per month), usually focused on a common theme. For example, gardening, exercise, or personal finance. If you think you could write a regular column about a subject you’re passionate about and give it a Daybreak twist, consider becoming a Mountain View Chronicle columnist. Community Posts - Our website platform has a feature called community posts that anyone can use by creating an account. This is perfect for adding notices for things like garage sales, fundraisers, and events for your club/church/school etc.
NOTE: While it is our ultimate goal to be able to financially compensate those who contribute to the Mountain View Chronicle, with this being our first year and having no idea what our revenue will look like, all contributor roles will be on a voluntary, unpaid basis for the time being.
