Last week saw the return of Food Truck Thursdays, at both the North Shore and Highland Park. My family went to the Highland Park one and had a great time, even though it was a little cold and windy. When will winter go away!?
A highlight of the week for me was attending the Herriman softball game against Mountain Ridge. It was a super exciting game and went right down to the wire. Click here to read our full story about it.
On Saturday I went for a walk around the Lake Terrace area. Recently as I've gone for walks around the lake, I've thought it looked like a cool area to explore. The elevation gain as you move west from the lake reminds me of San Francisco a little bit. And I love all the paths that cut up the hillside. Along one of those paths, I found this cute little swinging bench.
I also thought this shot was very emblematic of Daybreak. Colorful houses and an American flag. Daybreak residents seem to fly various flags outside their houses much more than anywhere else I've ever lived, which I think is kind of cool.
I often take my dog out for walks at Highland Park where you get these great views of the Downtown Daybreak area with the Wasatch Mountains in the background. It will sure be fun to watch the new stadium take shape over the course of the next year.
And lastly, I liked this kind of spooky shot I got of the mine on Saturday morning. I'd like to take a few really nice black and white photos of the mine to print out and hang in my family's home, so if any photographers out there know of some great locations to photograph it from, please let me know.
